Your new VersaCore waterproof floors are built for real life — from busy mornings to weekend gatherings, from muddy paw prints to kitchen spills. With their durable, water-resistant construction and beautiful natural textures, VersaCore floors are designed to last.
The good news? Keeping them looking their best is simple. Here’s everything you need to know about caring for and maintaining your VersaCore floors.
Everyday cleaning made easy
Sweep or vacuum regularly
Dirt and grit can act like sandpaper on your floor’s surface. Use a soft-bristle broom or a vacuum designed for hard floors (no beater bar) to remove dust and debris.
Damp mop when needed
For deeper cleaning, use a damp mop with warm water and a pH-neutral floor cleaner made for vinyl or hybrid flooring. Avoid soaking the floor — VersaCore is waterproof, but excessive standing water can seep into edges or damage baseboards over time.
Skip the harsh stuff
Avoid abrasive scrub pads, waxes, polish, ammonia, bleach, or oil-based cleaners. These can dull the finish or leave a residue.
Prevent scratches and scuffs
Use felt pads and protective glides
Attach felt pads to furniture legs and replace them periodically to prevent scratching.
Lift, don’t drag
When moving heavy furniture or appliances, lift them or use a floor-protection mat — never slide them directly across the surface.
Keep dirt outside
Place mats at entryways to capture dirt, sand, and moisture. Just be sure to choose mats with a non-staining, non-rubber backing (rubber and latex can discolor vinyl).

Handle spills quickly
Accidents happen — and VersaCore’s waterproof design has you covered. Still, it’s best to wipe up spills as soon as possible to avoid sticky residue or staining.
For tougher messes like food, crayon, or scuff marks:
Use a soft cloth and a mild cleaner.
For stubborn spots, rubbing alcohol or a diluted solution of water and vinegar can help — just rinse with clean water afterward.
Long-term care
Avoid steam mops — the high heat and moisture can compromise the core and locking system.
If the floor is damaged, individual planks can be replaced without removing the entire floor. Contact your installer or retailer for assistance.
For new installations, wait at least 24 hours before heavy foot traffic to allow the floor to settle properly.
Seasonal tips
Like all floating floors, VersaCore can expand and contract slightly with temperature changes. To keep things stable:
Maintain indoor temperatures between 60°F and 80°F (15°C–27°C).
Keep humidity levels between 30% and 70% year-round.
This ensures your floors stay flat and secure through all seasons.
